Fundamental in geostaistics is the spatial autocorrelation that occurs when values of neighboring samples are more similar than those sampled at greater distances from each other. Spatial <strong>autocorrelation <\/strong>manifests itself in multiple scales and with different orientations, a common phenomenon in ecological data.[\/vc_column_text][vc_column_text css=&#8221;&#8221; el_class=&#8221;quote-block no-img&#8221;]<em>Geostatistical applications are widely used in the Health Entomology and Zoology Sector to produce small, medium and large scale distribution maps of culicid species such as Culex pipiens, Aedes caspius, Aedes albopictus.<\/em>[\/vc_column_text][vc_single_image image=&#8221;1375&#8243; img_size=&#8221;full&#8221; alignment=&#8221;center&#8221; css=&#8221;&#8221;][vc_column_text css=&#8221;&#8221;]The <strong>spatial modeling<\/strong> includes the use of <strong>Remote Sensing<\/strong> (RS) that is a set of remote sensing techniques that allow the remote acquisition of qualitative and quantitative information (images) on phenomena or objects, without coming into contact with them. so-called Image Processing an enormous amount of environmental information can be extracted from these satellite images. In recent years the use of environmental variables extracted from Remote Sensing have been widely used to create precisely distribution models and abundance of animal and plant species and in the health field to create spatial models of arbovirus circulation, create epidemic risk maps on small , medium and large scale.[\/vc_column_text][vc_column_text css=&#8221;&#8221; el_class=&#8221;quote-block no-img&#8221;]<em>CAA has acquired skills in the development and application of satellite images, particularly in the field of biological monitoring and health surveillance. The images used by the CAA technicians are all open access (Modis, Landsat, STMR, Sentinel etc.) and allow the production of maps with resolutions ranging from 20-30 meters per kilometer. <\/em>[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_tta_section][vc_tta_section title=&#8221;WebGIS\/GEO applications&#8221; tab_id=&#8221;1760445662626-5185c23e-1ba8&#8243;][vc_single_image image=&#8221;1376&#8243; img_size=&#8221;full&#8221; alignment=&#8221;center&#8221; css=&#8221;&#8221;][vc_column_text css=&#8221;&#8221;]<\/p>\n<h4>WebGIS\/GEO applications<\/h4>\n<p>During these years, CAA has acquired skills in creating and implementing WEB-GIS, ie Geographic Information Systems developed to be used and shared on the internet and geographic applications based on <a href=\"http:\/\/openlayers.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">OpenLayer<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/leafletjs.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Leaflet<\/a>, <strong>Mapbox <\/strong>and <strong>Google Maps<\/strong> frameworks <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">to dynamically interface geographical data with the contents of relational databases<\/span>. <\/p>\n<p>The <strong>geographic applications<\/strong> developed by CAA allow, not only to visualize, navigate and query the geographic data sitting comfortably on one\u2019s PC or through tablets and smartphones, but also to create real-time data representation systems such as for example arbovirus risk maps, species distribution maps, etc.<\/p>\n<p>In particular WebGIS are developed with open source technologies through QGIS server that provides a Web Map Service (WMS) using the same libraries as QGIS Desktop (<strong><br \/>\n  <a href=\"http:\/\/www.qgis.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">www.qgis.org<\/a><br \/>\n<\/strong> ). All maps and print layouts can be published online on a web-gis in a very simple and intuitive way. <\/p>\n<p>The <strong>main features<\/strong> are:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"check\">\n<li>implementation Web Map Service (WMS)<\/li>\n<li>print output in PDF<\/li>\n<li>FWYSIWYG map creation with QGIS<\/li>\n<li>advanced cartographic symbolization support<\/li>\n<li>is supported Styled Layer Descriptor (SLD)<\/li>\n<li>inter-active navigation<\/li>\n<li>measurement of areas<\/li>\n<li>responsive interface<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_tta_section][vc_tta_section title=&#8221;Mobile GIS\/smartphone APPs&#8221; tab_id=&#8221;1760445669069-7cec541f-b63c&#8221;][vc_row_inner][vc_column_inner width=&#8221;2\/3&#8243;][vc_column_text css=&#8221;&#8221;]<\/p>\n<h4>Mobile GIS\/smartphone APPs<\/h4>\n<p>The term <strong>Mobile GIS<\/strong> identifies the Geographic Information Systems that can be used by portable devices such as PDAs or Tablet PCs as opposed to the so-called <strong>Desktop GIS<\/strong>, ie applications used in the office PCs.<\/p>\n<p>Mobile GIS are able to perform a wide range of functions, including 5 are the most common:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"check\">\n<li><strong>Field data capture<\/strong>. Possibility of georeferencing elements and associating the data directly in the field; <\/li>\n<li><strong>Navigating with the GPS<\/strong>. Take advantage of the GPS (Global Positioning System) to locate positions or navigate in your own personalized map; <\/li>\n<li>Validations of the data in the field (<strong>Ground Truthing<\/strong>). Possibility to directly check the data entered in the field; <\/li>\n<li><strong>Geocoding <\/strong>of the elements in real time. Identify elements such as address and house number of the georeferenced elements; <\/li>\n<li><strong>Integration with enterprise database<\/strong>.
